Colorado Government & Political Private Jet Charter

Private Jets Colorado arranges charter flights for government agencies, elected officials, campaigns and official delegations traveling to, from and within Colorado. That might be a delegation flying in for meetings at the State Capitol in Denver, a team visiting Colorado Springs, or a campaign covering the Front Range and the Western Slope in a single day.

Schedules set by someone else

Official travel runs to dates and times that other people usually fix, and they rarely line up with an airline schedule. A charter lets the whole delegation leave together, at the hour the program needs, from an airport near where the group is working. In Colorado, that can mean Centennial or Rocky Mountain Metropolitan for the Denver area, Colorado Springs for the south of the state, and Grand Junction or Montrose for the Western Slope. Campaign trips with several stops in a day can be planned as one itinerary.

Paperwork for agencies and campaigns

Government and campaign travel comes with its own record-keeping. We keep the records your accounting and compliance staff will want to see, and before departure you will have the name of the operator and the tail number of the aircraft in writing. We arrange every flight as your agent with a certified operator, and we do not own aircraft. Passenger names and itineraries go only to the operator and the crew assigned to the trip. For travel abroad, landing permits are applied for after the trip is booked and paid.

Larger delegations

Most charter flights operate under FAR Part 135, the FAA’s rules for on-demand, for-hire charter. Once the group runs past nineteen passengers, the trip calls for an airliner-size aircraft and no longer falls under FAR Part 135. Those flights operate under FAR Part 121 or a foreign equivalent, which generally carries stricter crew and operating requirements than both Part 91 and Part 135. Centennial limits the weight of aircraft that can use it, so the larger airliners leave from Denver International or Colorado Springs. You can see the aircraft on our VIP airliners page.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Colorado-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Every Colorado airport sits at high elevation, and the right one depends on where you are going once you land. Around Denver, Centennial and Rocky Mountain Metropolitan are the usual choices for a private flight, but Centennial limits aircraft to 70,000 lb maximum takeoff weight, so the largest jets use Denver International. In the mountains, Eagle County serves Vail and Beaver Creek, Yampa Valley Regional in Hayden serves Steamboat, and Telluride has a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Aspen limits aircraft to a 95 ft wingspan, and its airport will close to all aircraft from April 4th to November 19th, 2027 for runway reconstruction. Thin air and heat change how much runway an aircraft needs, and that is the operator’s call on the day. Winter brings de-icing, summer thunderstorms can hold departures at Denver, and customs is available at Denver International, Colorado Springs, Centennial, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan and Eagle County.
